VETERANS MINISTRY SCHOLARSHIP
Wesley Chapel UMC Veterans Ministry Scholarship will be awarded to provide financial assistance to college-bond Wesley Chapel students who meet the following criteria:
1. The applicant must be a high school senior planning to enroll in an accredited institution of higher learning to obtain a bachelor’s degree; and is the child/grandchild of an active Wesley Chapel Veterans Ministry member; or additionally plans to become a Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) Cadet upon enrollment.
2. The applicant must have been an active member of Wesley Chapel UMC, McDonough for at least a year prior to the application deadline.
3. The applicant must have an overall grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 grading scale and a minimum SAT score of 1500, or the equivalent of at least 20 on the ACT. If no SAT or ACT is available provide an explanation in the application.
4. The applicant must be enrolled in a full-time course of study, 12-15 semester hours or the equivalent. (If not the child of an active Wesley Chapel Veterans Ministry member, an appropriate ROTC course must be one of the courses enrolled).
5. The applicant must have a letter of recommendation from a person the applicant feels best conveys their suitability for this scholarship emailed by 23 May 2025 to veteransministry@wesleychapelmcd.org; ATTN: Wesley Chapel UMC, Veterans Scholarship.
6. The applicant must complete and email the scholarship application, a one (1) page autobiography including family history and educational and career aspirations, and a copy of the HS transcript reflecting the GPA to veteransministry@wesleychapelmcd.org ; ATTN: Wesley Chapel UMC, Veterans Scholarship by 23 May 2025.
Application with autobiography, transcript, and letter of recommendation must arrive by May 23rd to be considered.
